2011 30 Day Song Challenge

Decided to keep the list for posterity's sake of this meme over on FB. Don't usually do this, but I'm curious to see what I come up with.

day 01 - your favorite song
So hard to select - it's tends to vary. One that has been around for a long time.

Suspicious Minds.
The song sticks with me as I like at least two versions - Elvis and the Pet Shop Boys.

day 02 - your least favorite song
Close call between two.
Chain Reaction - Diana Ross and She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals

day 03 - a song that makes you happy
Always Look on the Bright Side of Life - Monty Python from Life of Brian

day 04 - a song that makes you sad
Really struggled to find one that fits. Decided a female vocal of Ave Maria.

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone
Robert Gass version of Om Namah Shivaya
Decided to try and find something that encapsulates my mother. This does that both her singing it and a part of her personality shine through with this choice.

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere
Finally! An easy one to choose.
Stasia by Tulipan - automatically takes me back to my Woodford experience (turn of the century event no less 1999/2000).

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event
Knew this choice at day 1!
Time of Your Life - Green Day
Event. Divorce

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to
D'uh.
Took me a while to remember this small fact. I know the words (still) to ALL the songs from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Once More With Feeling" aka The Buffy Musical Episode AND Dr Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog AND Commentary! The Musical.

So many songs to choose from.....today the choice went to......"Something to Sing About" from the Buffy episode.

day 09 - a song that you can dance to
Another one selected way back at the beginning of this challenge.
Love Shack - B52s

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep
I chose for good reasons (not that it's so dull that it happens).
Four Seasons - Antonio Vivaldi

day 11 - a song from your favorite band
Band being emphasis here.
The Ink Spots is a perennial favourite. Song choice is more from what is available on you tube.
I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire

day 12 - a song from a band you hate
I can't think of a single band I hate, or one that I'd be bothered actually noting here.
I can think of some genres I avoid - mostly as it sounds like white noise (due to hearing).
Having said that I really do not like the overexposure and voice of John Farnham.

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure
Hips Don't Lie - Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love
Still Alive - Portal Credits Song

day 15 - a song that describes you
Bitch - Meredith Brooks though Did It Again - Kylie Minogue also nails me quite well.

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate
Kokomo - Beach Boys

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio
Grenade - Bruno Mars

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio
Problem of choice from knowing so many wonderful musicians - who don't necessarily have their songs easily accessed via links.

Went with Wendy Rule - The Wolf Sky.

day 19 - a song from your favorite album
Album - Beautiful Things, Artist - Speed of Purple   Song - Puppet

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry
Don't tend to listen when angry, rather here's a song that I use to calm me down from anger:
Run, Rabbit Run - Flanagan and Allen

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy
The Lion Sleeps Tonight -  many versions

day 22 - a song that you listen to when you’re sad
Depends on the cause of the sadness. However, this one tends to pop in my head...
Otherside - Red Hot Chilli Peppers

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding
For today's choice, I'm going to seal my lips & take the U.S. fifth of not revealing - on account that my wedding is next February.

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral
Two songs I'd like to have played.
Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin
What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

day 25 - a song that makes you laugh
Sort of Dunno Nothin' - Pete Denahy
